TensionLine

Disclaimer & data sources

Last updated 18 September 2026

TensionLine is an analytical and educational tool. It is not personalised investment, trading, tax, legal, or accounting advice, it does not tell you to buy or sell, and it executes nothing.

Not investment advice

TensionLine presents analysis, reasoning, and probabilities for you to evaluate. Placements, rankings, and any figure shown alongside them describe the balance of the analysis — they are not a recommendation, and they are not tailored to your circumstances, objectives, or risk tolerance. You decide whether, when, and how to act, and you do so at your own risk.

Nothing in the product or on this site is an offer, solicitation, or inducement to buy or sell any financial instrument.

No execution, no discretion

TensionLine has no connection to any broker or exchange. It cannot place, modify, or cancel an order, and it does not manage money on anyone's behalf. Any action you take happens elsewhere, entirely at your own initiative.

No performance claims

We make no claim about past or future performance, and no claim that using TensionLine improves investment outcomes. Where the product reports on the accuracy of its own past predictions, those figures are shown with their sample size and are a description of a track record, not a promise about the future.

Your responsibility

Investing involves risk, including the possible loss of the amount invested. You are responsible for your own decisions and for seeking independent, licensed advice where you need it.

Data sources

Market data powered by Tiingo.com. Daily prices, corporate actions (splits and dividends), company profiles and the tradable-symbol universe come from Tiingo.

US-equity fundamentals, company names for search, and reported earnings come from SEC EDGAR (public domain).

News headlines come from Tiingo, from companies' SEC filings, from press-release newswires (GlobeNewswire and PR Newswire), from companies' own newsrooms, and from US regulators' press releases (such as the FDA, EIA, Federal Reserve, FTC, SEC and NIST). We show the headline and a link, labelled with its publisher — the article itself stays on the publisher's site.

Inflation, policy rates, growth, volatility, and the Treasury yield curve come from the FRED® API.

This product uses the FRED® API but is not endorsed or certified by the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis.

Automated summaries

News and earnings summaries, and some narration, are written by a third-party large language model. They are labelled as AI-generated wherever they appear, are informational only, and can be incomplete or inaccurate — check them against the linked primary sources before you rely on them.

Accuracy

All third-party data is provided for informational purposes only. While these providers employ review processes to maintain accuracy, errors or omissions may occur. TensionLine and its data providers disclaim any liability for inaccuracies, and you access and use this data at your own risk.

What is shown to you

Market-data licences govern display, not just use. Depending on the licence in force, some figures are shown as percentages and relative measures rather than raw prices or per-holding cash values. This is a licensing constraint, not a limitation of the analysis.
