Terms of service

1. What this is
TensionLine ("the Service") is an analytical and educational tool for reasoning about a portfolio you already hold. By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Not advice, and no execution
The Service does not provide personalised investment, trading, tax, legal, or accounting advice, does not make recommendations tailored to you, and executes no transactions.
Everything the Service shows — scores, placements, rankings, target weights, probabilities, and narration — is analysis for you to evaluate. It is not an offer, solicitation, or inducement to buy or sell. You are solely responsible for your own decisions and for obtaining independent, licensed advice where you need it. See the Disclaimer, which forms part of these terms.
3. Beta status
The Service is in public beta and is provided as-is. Features may change or be withdrawn, analysis may be recomputed or corrected, and availability is not guaranteed. Anyone may request access; each request is approved by hand, and access may be withdrawn.
4. Your account
You sign in with Google; keep that account secure. You are responsible for activity under your account. Do not share access, and tell us promptly if you think it has been compromised.
5. Your data
You keep ownership of the portfolio data you provide. You grant us only the permission needed to store and process it in order to operate the Service for you. We do not sell it. See the Privacy policy.
You are responsible for having the right to upload what you upload, and for its accuracy — the analysis is only ever as good as the transactions behind it.
6. Acceptable use
- Do not attempt to breach, probe, or overload the Service or its infrastructure.
- Do not scrape, resell, or redistribute market data obtained through the Service. Our data providers licence that data to us, not through us.
- Do not use the Service to provide investment advice to others, or to operate a service for third parties.
- Do not upload anything unlawful, or anyone else's personal data without a lawful basis.
7. Third-party data and services
The Service depends on third-party data and AI providers described under Data sources. Their data is provided for informational purposes only and may contain errors or omissions. We are not responsible for third-party outages, inaccuracies, or changes to their terms, and those providers accept no liability to you through us.
8. No warranty
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind — including any warranty of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or that use of the Service will produce any particular financial outcome.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any investment loss, lost profits, or indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. If you are a consumer, your mandatory statutory rights are unaffected.
10. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end access if these terms are breached, or if the Service is discontinued. On termination, your personal data is deleted as described in the Privacy policy.
11. Paid plans and refunds
Nothing is charged during the public beta. When paid plans launch they are sold through a merchant of record, named on your receipt, which takes the payment and handles tax. A subscription renews until you cancel it, and cancelling stops the next renewal. Any payment can be refunded in full within 30 days of being taken, with no reason needed — see the Refund policy, which forms part of these terms.
12. Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes will be notified to account holders, and the date above will change. Continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the updated terms.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Hungary, and the courts of Hungary have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the EU/EEA or the UK, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer rules of your country of residence.
